Earlier this year, SALTO Systems a leading manufacturer of electronic access control solutions and a key partner of Sovereign Fire and Security, became the first company to achieve the BSI Enhanced Level IoT Kitemark for access control systems.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of connected smart devices and systems that enable data exchange to provide new services. While IoT enhances lives, its dependence on wireless internet also means that criminals may attempt to breach its security to steal data, hack cameras or enter buildings.

The Enhanced Level IoT Kitemark demonstrates that a connected product has a higher level of security controls in place than the market standard for its type and is generally suitable for higher value or risk applications. Assessment of this level involves BSI’s most in-depth and exacting testing and analysis.

SALTO has set the highest cybersecurity standard for its IoT devices by achieving certification to the Kitemark for IoT (Enhanced Level), and to the BSI Kitemark for Secure Digital Applications. The certifications give installers and users a high level of confidence that the systems’ physical hardware and platform software has been through thorough security and compliance testing.

Neil Clements Director of Sovereign Fire and Security commented on the accreditation, “We are proud to partner with such esteemed companies such as SALTO, who continue to innovate and enhance the security of their products and services. The Kitemark accreditation provides further trust in the safety and security of SALTO connected products.”

Sovereign Fire & Security is a Gold Inspired and Certificated SALTO Systems Partner, having worked with the company for more than 10 years.
